Subdued summery hues color the resoundingly pretty techno-folk recital Tad Wagner and Jessica Peters have etched into the books here. “We are Wyoming” is pop without pomp, grassroots folk without hairy legged smugness, electronic sweetness without noisome sequencer clatter. Yes, there’s autobiography, but not the eyeroll-inspiring type that trips over its own malfunctioning sense of irony – Peters takes the essence of innocence and gives it an angel’s voice as Wagner’s conscientious synths guide the listener safely along.
